Spring 2008 Parenting Panel
"Parenting Across Cultures: Raising a Global Generation"

Born in one country, raised in another.
Educated in one language, raised in another.
Our children are a Global Generation...

With more than 40,000 children in International Schools, an extensive Overseas Chinese community, and one of the world’s largest International Expatriate populations, Hong Kong parents are now more than ever raising a truly Global Generation.

Luke was born in Hong Kong, speaks English and Mandarin, but his parents call Canada home. Tomoko was born in the U.S., speaks Japanese at home & English at school, and calls Hong Kong home. Gracie was born in Hong Kong, her brother was born in Singapore, and her parents are from the UK.

This shift in the development of identity in children is creating many new challenges for parents and educators. The ability to raise children across cultures was not something most of our parents had to consider, but it will define the future of this Global Generation.

Join experts for a panel discussion on parenting and growing up across cultures. Topics to be discussed include:
- Expatriate Parenting
- 3rd Culture Kids
- Trans-Racial Parents
- Building a Family Ethnic Identity
- Multi-Language Education
- Multicultural Homes & Education
- Education Abroad
- International Adoption
